A Bright Start for Bulgarian Orphans

There are many orphanages in Bulgaria supporting children from babies up to 18 year olds and many of the homes survive by relying heavily on donations from their local community and expats residing there.

I had wanted to start an appeal for some time now, to help the children in orphanages and homes here in Bulgaria and after speaking with my mother, we decided that we could do something to help these children and the wonderful staff who work incredibly hard to try and give these children a better life.

We have now visited 2 homes, Kalofer and Plovdiv home for babies and children. Aswell as basic necesities, one of the items high on their list of needs is furniture. The furniture they have is very old or falling apart. They maintain them as best they can, but replacement is now desperately needed. There is a list of items that homes need on the following page:

Donations and Information

Our appeal is still in the early stages, but the response we have had has been wonderful. I have to say a huge thank my mother, Enid Taylor and my sister Angela Chapman for working so hard in organising and co-ordinating the collections in the UK and to my good friend Pavlina Stefanowa who has helped me here in Bulgaria.

With your help, support and generosity, we can help these children have a brighter future.
