Skynomad Paragliding and Shambhala Centre of Extreme Sport and Meditation, Sopot.
These 2 centres are situated in the town of Sopot, 5 kms from Karlovo. They attract visitors, extreme sport enthusiasts and nature lovers alike from all over the world.
There are many activities to take part in at the centre, paragliding, paintball, mountain biking, mountain boarding and trekking. A childrens play area, picnic tables and cafe providing food and drink is next to the landing zone for the flyers. There is also a meditation centre. Set in the beautiful surroundings of the Balkan mountain range, Stara Planina, travel the chair lift to the top of the mountain for breathtaking views across Sopot and the valley beyond. This is where you will find the paragliding take off point.
At the summit is the Alpine hotel, Nezabravka offering very good accomodation.
The new adventure playground has just opened with an obstacle course suspended from the trees. There are safety nets under each area and qualified, English speaking staff on hand supervising the course. The centre is an excellent day out for all the family.
Skynomad offer paragliding courses for beginners providing ground trainging, including launching, controlling and landing, plus basic theory about aerodynamics and meteorology that will give you a good understanding about how a paraglider flies.
Intermediate courses and tandem flights are also available.
